This is a vessel that was manufactured for use within a vacuum cooling system in a food factory producing cooked rice. It is used as an interceptor so that the rice is not pulled back into the heat exchanger when the vacuum is first applied. Construction is 304 grade stainless steel throughout with all welds to a hygienic standard (double operator argon process), polished internally. The shell is 1500mm high and 660mm diameter with a DN150 inlet, a special DN300 inspection flange and 10mm thick jointing flange to which a dished end is bolted. The outlet cone is fitted with a 3" butterfly valve to discharge any accumulated waste. When this was completed, we also undertook the installation of it and modified the existing system pipework to incorporate it.
